MOVING YOUR MOUNTAIN part one
What mountain is standing between you and what God has promised?
Maybe you can see the mountain clearly. Maybe it has been there so long that you have become accustomed to talking about it, thinking about it, and explaining it. But Jesus gives us a different approach. He does not teach us to rehearse the mountain. He teaches us to speak to it.
š£ļø SPEAK TO THE MOUNTAIN
āFor assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, āBe removed and be cast into the sea,ā and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.ā
Mark 11:23 NKJV
āTherefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believing, you will receive them.ā
Mark 11:24 NKJV
Jesus gives us a clear picture of faith in action.
š£ļø Speak to the mountain, believe in your heart, and pray believing.
šļø BE REMOVED!
š„ GO, IN JESUSā NAME!
š„ EXPECT YOUR FAITH AND WORDS TO MOVE THE MOUNTAIN!
And before we go any further, we need to understand why we can speak to the mountain with faith.
š JESUS IS OUR EXAMPLE
āIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.ā
John 1:1 NKJV
āAnd the Word became flesh and dwelt among usā¦ā
John 1:14 NKJV
Jesus is the Word made flesh.
Jesus did not simply talk about the Word. He lived the Word. He demonstrated the Word. He showed us what it looks like to believe, speak, and act according to the Word of God.
āFor I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.ā
John 13:15 NKJV
š BELIEVE THE WORD. š£ļø SPEAK THE WORD. š„ ACT ON THE WORD.
š GODāS WORD IS THE CORNERSTONE OF OUR FAITH
Our faith has a foundation. That foundation is not our circumstances. It is not our feelings. It is not someone elseās testimony. It is not our understanding of how God answered someone else. Godās Word is the cornerstone of our faith.
āSanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.ā
John 17:17 NKJV
āHeaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.ā
Matthew 24:35 NKJV
His Word is absolute truth. God said it. That settles it.
š The Word is the cornerstone. ā¤ļø Faith believes the Word. š£ļø Faith speaks the Word. š„ Faith acts on the Word.
The mountain does not determine what we believe. Godās Word determines what we believe.
š£ļø FAITH SPEAKS TO THE MOUNTAIN
Faith speaks to the mountain. Faith does not rehearse the circumstances. Rehearsing the circumstances keeps drawing attention to the mountain. Faith draws attention to Godās Word.
The mountain may be real, but it does not get to become the focus of your conversation.
šļø When we continually rehearse the circumstances, our attention remains fixed on what we can see.
š„ But faith turns our attention to what God has said. So instead of continually explaining the mountain, speak to it.
šļø BE REMOVED!
š„ GO, IN JESUSā NAME!
š I BELIEVE GODāS WORD!
ā¤ļø I BELIEVE HIS PROMISES!
š£ļø I SPEAK WHAT GOD HAS SAID!
Faith doesnāt rehearse the mountain. Faith speaks to the mountain.
ā¤ļø FAITH WORKS BY LOVE
āFor in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.ā
Galatians 5:6 NKJV
Our confidence begins with the love of the Father. Our authority is exercised through the power of the Holy Spirit. Our thinking is established through the mind of Christ.
ā¤ļø THE LOVE OF THE FATHER
š„ THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
š§ THE MIND OF CHRIST
Faith is not separated from the heart of God.
The love of the Father gives us confidence to believe Him.
š Hear the Word, ā¤ļø believe the Word, š£ļø speak the Word, and š„ act on the Word, because faith works by love.
The Word you believe gives your faith something to act upon and speak. Faith works by love. ā¤ļø
š„ GOD HAS NOT GIVEN YOU A SPIRIT OF FEAR
āFor God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.ā
2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV
God has not given you fear. He has given you ā¤ļø LOVE, š„ POWER, and š§ A SOUND MIND.
āBut we have the mind of Christ.ā
1 Corinthians 2:16 NKJV
You can bring your thinking, believing, speaking, and responding into agreement with Godās Word. The mountain does not tell you what to believe. Godās Word tells you what to believe. The mountain does not tell you what to say.
Jesus demonstrated what we are to say. The mountain does not determine your response. The Word of God does.
Fear does not get to become your confession.
Godās Word has authority to manifest what you believe and speak when you speak in faith.
š WHAT WORD ARE YOU BELIEVING?
āSo then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.ā
Romans 10:17 NKJV
The Word you believe gives your faith something to act upon and speak.
āI believed and therefore I spoke.ā
2 Corinthians 4:13 NKJV
š Hear the Word, ā¤ļø believe the Word, š£ļø speak the Word, and š„ act on the Word, because faith works by love.
So ask yourself:
What Word am I believing?
What Word am I speaking?
What Word am I acting upon?
š£ļø DISCIPLINE YOUR WORDS
āDeath and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.ā
Proverbs 18:21 NKJV
Our words matter.
When you hear yourself speaking words that disagree with Godās Word, change the conversation.
Instead of saying, āI canāt,ā remember Philippians 4:13 NKJV:
āI can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.ā
Philippians 4:13 NKJV
Instead of saying, āThere is no way,ā remember Matthew 19:26 NKJV:
āWith God all things are possible.ā
Matthew 19:26 NKJV
Instead of saying, āI donāt know how this will happen,ā say, āI trust God.ā
And instead of comparing your situation with someone elseās testimony, say, āGod is faithful to His Word.ā
Your responsibility is not to figure out every detail of how God will accomplish His purposes.
Your responsibility is to believe what God has said, speak what He has said, and act upon His Word.
š± CHOOSE LIFE
āI call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose lifeā¦ā
Deuteronomy 30:19 NKJV
Choose life in your thoughts.
Choose life in your words.
Choose life in your conversations.
When fear speaks, answer with faith.
When doubt speaks, answer with the Word.
When circumstances speak, answer with Godās promises.
Choose life.
š GODāS PROMISES ARE YES AND AMEN
āFor all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.ā
2 Corinthians 1:20 NKJV
His promises are YES AND AMEN.
You do not have to create preconceived ideas about how God must answer because of how He answered someone else. God may lead each person differently. Your confidence is not in someone elseās testimony. Your confidence is in God and His Word. Believe what He has said.
Trust His character. Speak what He has said.
Act on His Word because faith works by love. ā¤ļø
š£ļø TELL THAT MOUNTAIN WHERE TO GO!
āWhoever says to this mountain, āBe removed and be cast into the seaāā¦ā
Mark 11:23 NKJV
So identify your mountain.
Then identify the Word of God that addresses it.
Believe that Word.
Speak it.
Act upon it.
And when you speak to that mountain:
šļø BE REMOVED!
š„ GO, IN JESUSā NAME!
š I BELIEVE GODāS WORD!
ā¤ļø I BELIEVE HIS PROMISES!
š£ļø I SPEAK WHAT GOD HAS SAID!
š„ I ACT ON THE WORD BECAUSE FAITH WORKS BY LOVE!
š„ MY FAITH DECLARATION
ā¤ļø I believe the Word of God because it is absolute truth.
ā¤ļø I believe what God has said.
š„ I have the power of the Holy Spirit.
š§ I have the mind of Christ.
ā¤ļø I know the love of the Father.
š£ļø I will discipline my words.
š I will speak what God has said.
š„ I will act on the Word because faith works by love.
š± I choose life.
š„ I choose faith over fear.
š„ I choose Godās promises over preconceived ideas.
š„ I choose faith over comparison.
šļø I will speak to my mountain.
BE REMOVED!
š„ EXPECT YOUR FAITH AND WORDS TO MOVE THE MOUNTAIN!
š§ THIRSTY THURSDAY CHALLENGE
For the next 24 hours, listen carefully to your own words. When you hear yourself rehearsing the circumstances, stop and ask:
ā āWHAT DOES GODāS WORD SAY?ā
Then speak that.
š Hear it, ā¤ļø believe it, š£ļø speak it, and š„ act on it because faith works by love.
The Word gives your faith something to believe.
The Word you believe gives your faith something to act upon and speak. Faith does not rehearse the mountain. Faith speaks to the mountain.
šļøš„ EXPECT YOUR FAITH AND WORDS TO MOVE THE MOUNTAIN!
